About the art
'Kapitan Khlebnikov' was captured in 2018 during a 2 week arctic expedition.
This photo was taking from inside a heli on the way back a side quest to a glacier, a storm had pulled in and we were fortunate to have made it safely back to the ship - 'Kapitan Khlebnikov' (picutured) just in time.
The Kapitan Khlebnikov is a Russian icebreaker and expedition ship that has sailed to the Arctic and Antarctica. It's known for its record number of crossings of the Northwest Passage.
Bulit in 1981 this incredible ship has 24,000 horsepower diesel-electric engines that can power the ship through up to 2m of sea ice.
